THE CHORALE
Since 2012 the Chorale has been celebrated as one of this Nation’s leading ensembles. Winning at the World Choir Games, performing for the Obamas at The White House, and headlining the Prague Proms festival in Czech Republic are a few of the lasting experiences our members and supporters have been able to be a part of. But this is only the beginning. We are embarking on an ambitious and exciting vision that will take us to new heights. Please help us make this happen by supporting us through an annual pledge.

In light of the COVID19 pandemic many musicians have lost jobs with the inability to participate in live performances. Because of this the Chorale has stepped up to the plate and established the Impact program that issues financial assistance to musicians in desperate need for support during these times.

The Chorale has established the Gregory Daugherty and Vernetta Willett Scholarships.
The Chorale has established the Gregory Daugherty and Vernetta Willett Scholarships. These funds have been established to honor the lives of these Chorale members that have been lost too soon. Each scholarship will be in the amount of $1,500 for students wishing to study at an Historically Black College or University (HBCU). The Gregory Daugherty scholarship will be for persons majoring in music. The Vernetta Willett scholarship will be awarded to any major.

Gregory Daugherty
In celebration of the rich musical traditions of African American, LatinX, Caribbean, and African music, The Chorale has established an orchestral competition that will call for submissions of music that feature these styles. With everything from hip hop to jazz; gospel to reggae, this competition will celebrate and cast a bright light on great art that is often overlooked by the many major symphonies and orchestras.

With a primary focus on the music of African American heritage, we are committed to sharing all styles of choral music including classical, gospel, jazz, R&B and more. With this mission we also work with local educational institutions to present programming fit to expose future generations to the gift of choral music.
